Aside from experiencing the local lifestyle, there is no shortage of things to do in Langkawi. Hop on our new cable car to the summit of Mount Mat Cincang-Langkawi's second highest mountain-for an unrivalled view of the entire main island and beyond.
The Concierge would be happy to assist in making reservations for The Field of Burnt Rice, the Hot Springs, Telaga Tujuh (The Seven Wells) and the Beach of Black Sand. Allow us to organize a boat tour of the mangroves, a diving expedition, or a visit to Langkawi's underwater world-an underground tunnel that runs through an enormous aquarium.
Treks through the pristine rainforest that blankets most of Langkawi are easily arranged, and prove a once in a lifetime experience for our guests.
Langkawi, a predominantly Malay area, has a duty-free status, which makes it a popular shopping destination especially among Malaysians. Stores are generally open from 10am to 8pm, Saturday through Thursday. Bahasa Malaysia is the official language of the island; however English is widely spoken and understood. Local voltage is on a 240 volt, 50-cycle system.
